Long Lunch with Bonnie Hancock
NewsWednesday 09/04/2025The St Albert’s College Charity Committee have wasted no time – On Sunday the 12th of May, guest gathered at the Armidale Jockey Club for a keynote address and Long Lunch. The day saw 200 guests gather for a luncheon and fundraiser with Bonnie Hancock, ambassador for Gotcha4Life.
Bonnie, a former ironwoman and athlete, regaled attendees with tails from her remarkable 12,700km surf ski circumnavigation of Australia back in 2022.
Her journey, which was not just a test of physical endurance but also a profound mental challenge, served as a backdrop for her address. Bonnie spoke eloquently about the mind’s potential to be fortified, much like a muscle, through consistent training and awareness. She emphasized the importance of mental agility in navigating life’s stresses and traumas, inspiring guests to consider their own mental fitness.
The message was clear: mental agility is not just a concept but a practice, one that requires attention and care. Bonnie’s words resonated with the audience, leaving them with a powerful reminder of the strength that lies within the mind and the importance of nurturing it.
The St Albert’s College Charity Committee is lead by senior students Ivy McGufficke and Archie Triggs.
