Latest NewsFriday 21/08/2026Sean Brito-Babapulle served as the Master of St Albert’s College (“Albies”) at the University of New England from 2000 to 2004, making history when he was appointed as the youngest head of a tertiary residential college in Australia at just 28 years old.
Selected by the Dominican Fathers for his natural ability to connect with students, his tenure at St Albert’s cemented his reputation for empathetic, approachable leadership and deep commitment to student welfare, qualities that became the hallmark of his nearly four-decade career across Australian higher education residential communities.
Sadly, Sean passed away at the age of 57 on 19 August 2026, leaving behind an extraordinary legacy across the many college communities and generations of students he mentored and supported throughout his life.
