Investing in Albie’s wellbeing and success
Latest NewsFriday 14/11/2025At St Alberts, we’re committed to creating an environment where every student can thrive academically, socially, and personally. As we look ahead to 2026, we’re making important changes to enhance support for all our residents.
Professional Pastoral Support
We’re introducing a new Assistant Dean position to provide on-site professional pastoral support. This qualified professional will work alongside our Resident Advisors to ensure residents have access to expert care when they need it most.
The Assistant Dean will replace the student-led roles of Pastoral Assistant, Block Resident Advisor, and Senior Resident Advisor. Resident Advisors will continue their important work with enhanced professional support and supervision.
More Equitable Scholarships and Bursaries
We’re increasing our financial support pool and making it more accessible:
Bursaries: Increasing from $33,000 to $50,000 in 2026, awarded based on genuine financial need
New Scholarships:
- Five Academic and Community Engagement Scholarships – $4,000 each for second or third-year residents
- Five Entrance Scholarships – $4,000 each for commencing residents
These changes ensure more students can access financial support based on academic excellence and genuine need, rather than limiting opportunities to a small number of senior leadership positions.
Supporting students in 2026 and beyond
These changes reflect our ongoing commitment to:
- Supporting residents’ mental health and wellbeing with professional expertise
- Recognising and rewarding academic achievement
- Ensuring financial support reaches those who need it most
- Creating a safe, inclusive community
We’re proud of everything our students have achieved this year and look forward to welcoming residents back to Albies in 2026.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why are these changes being made?

When do these changes take effect?
The changes will be implemented from the start of the 2026 academic year, in line with the New National Code requirements.
