It’s OK to Say No – A Powerful Message for Our Community
Latest NewsThursday 10/04/2025Last night, we had the privilege of hosting Shanna Whan from Sober in the Country at our community dinner. Shanna shared the incredible work SITC does in supporting rural and regional Australians to make healthy choices related to alcohol, reinforcing the central message: “It’s OK to say no.”
In a close-knit community like ours, it’s important that everyone feels empowered to make choices that are right for them, without pressure or expectation. We are proud to stand behind this message and continue the conversation.
To further promote this, we will be hosting an “OK to Say No” BBQ on Saturday, 22 February, where non-alcoholic drinks will be served. This is an opportunity to come together, enjoy great company, and celebrate a culture of respect and inclusivity.
A huge thank you to Shanna for her inspiring words and advocacy—we look forward to continuing this important dialogue at St Albert’s College.
